About Me:
Hello! My name is Heather Eccard, and I am thrilled to be teaching 2nd grade this year at Fayetteville Elementary. I have been teaching second grade for 7 years, and my passion is helping students discover their potential and develop a love for learning. I live in Fayetteville and have one daughter, who is currently a freshman at Duke University! I love hiking, reading, cooking, and spending time with friends and family in my free time. I am obsessed with dark chocolate, herbal tea, and Target.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in English- Grand Canyon University
Teaching Philosophy:
I believe that every student has unique strengths and learning styles, and that every student can be successful. My goal is to create a supportive, welcoming, and engaging classroom environment where all students feel valued and motivated to achieve their best. I use a variety of teaching methods, including hands-on activities, partner work, group work, and technology integration, to make learning fun and effective. I am additionally the gifted liaison for the school district and enjoy the opportunity to work with the gifted students and their families, as well.
