If it is a remote learning day - then students need to get on their Google classrooms and find their assignments to complete as per board policy. Students can reach me on these days during the hours of 10am -12pm and 1pm- 3pm by emailing me and through the Google classroom as well.
About Me:
Hello! My name is Lori Patton, and I am thrilled to be teaching 7th grade Mathematics and 8th grade Theatre this year at FPLS. I have been teaching for over 29 years, and my passion is helping students discover their potential and develop a love for Mathematics and the Fine Arts.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a Concentration in Mathematics - Wilmington College
Master’s Degree Mathematics Education- Walden University
Certified in all subjects grades 1-8 and Higher level Mathematics
Teaching Philosophy:
I believe that every student can learn and improve their mathematical abilities at their individual level with help and guidance from a knowledgeable and caring teacher.
I believe that students need to practice their math skills daily both in school and at home. Mathematics is not just a subject in school, but a life skill that is important for daily survival skills and is used in every job that they will encounter in the future.
I believe that Drama and Theatre skills are also very useful. Students need to learn how to present themselves and speak in front of others. Students develop a sense of teamwork and comradery in Theatre class that they might not get in other classes.
